This is Paula Daly's debut novel and it has been very popular. It was very well written and grabbed me from the first couple of pages. The main character, Lisa Kallisto, is a super busy working mom, struggling to juggle everything in her life. Her best friend's 13-year-old daughter goes missing when she was supposedly staying with Lisa. She is wracked with guilt and is determined to help find the missing girl. As she begins to investigate, she discovers that not everything is what it appears to be.
This book was full of suspense and I was eager to get to the end to find out what happened. There was a side story involving the female investigator that didn't really go anywhere and could have probably been left out, but other than that, a very impressive first novel by this author. I will definitely look forward to her next.
